Faculty Guide to Truxal Library

Course reserves

You may place books, DVDs, articles, and other materials on reserve for your students. Typically, hard-copy reserves have shorter loan periods than other materials, ensuring that many students can access a limited number of items. Library holdings placed on reserve will be removed from the stacks; students simply inquire at the circulation desk with their course number and/or instructor name to borrow these materials.

Reserves are also a good way for you to share personal or department copies with your students. (Note that publishers may restrict usage of review copies and some instructors' editions; read the relevant terms and conditions before providing one of these to the library.) Please first complete the form below or contact the circulation department (, then either drop off the items at the circulation desk (2nd floor) or send them to LBRY 233A (attn: reserves).

The library receives very limited funds to purchase textbooks from the AACC Bookstore. If your course text is not available in the library and you are not providing a personal copy, please use the form below to request that library staff purchase your text (limit: one copy). Please ensure your text is available for purchase before submitting your request; note that we are not permitted to buy DDA "print upgrades."
