Plan Your Steps; Budget Your Time
Recognize that writing is a multi-step process.
Usually, a college paper goes through a number of steps before being submitted in final form to the professor for a grade.
Budget your time to include:
- understanding the assignment,
- taking notes from any required research and reading,
- making an outline,
- writing the first draft of the paper,
- checking over the draft’s organization,
- adding information, if need be,
- editing and proofreading,
- double-checking the documentation.
