Understanding Plagiarism

Anne Arundel Community College’s Academic Integrity Policy (PDF) defines plagiarism as “the unacknowledged adoption or reproduction of ideas, words or statements of another person, including classroom peers.”

Detecting Plagiarism

What do your instructors know about plagiarism?  They can use these and other fee-based, commercial resources to detect and identify plagiarized writing and papers bought on the Web. The following detection sites also include free information and/or articles about preventing plagiarism:

  • Turnitin.com (this product is available to all AACC faculty through a campuswide subscription)
