Truxal Library for Distance Learners

Distance Learning Library Services

The Library seeks to fulfill its mission by supporting students who are taking classes at a distance (online, Arundel Mills, GBTC, HCAT, or any other non-Arnold site).  If you are teaching online, consider inviting a librarian to be involved in your course so that students can get assistance without "leaving" the course.  There are a number of other ways that you can help your students take advantage of the library and its resources.

Bring the Library to Your Students

Make the library part of your online course:

  • Provide links to some of the library’s web pages (especially the For Distance Learners guide).
  • Create links to articles in the library's databases for students to read.
  • Ask a librarian to help you find electronic resources for your classes.
  • Provide the Distance Learning Librarian's e-mail (DLLibrarian@aacc.edu) so students can request assistance from a librarian.
  • Arrange for a librarian to be enrolled in your online or hybrid course so students can ask for assistance within the course through email and/or discussions.
  • Contact the Distance Learning Librarian for more information: 410-777-2216 or DLLibrarian@aacc.edu.

Invite a librarian to come to off-campus sites for library instruction:
